Open access statement

The International Marine Energy Journal is committed to immediate open access publication for all articles that have passed through the peer review and copy-editing stages. All of our articles are free to access immediately from the date of publication. We currently do not charge our authors any fees for publication or processing (this will be reviewed in the future, but there will be no fees for articles submitted in 2020). We will never charge readers to download articles. The International Marine Energy Journal is free to all, anywhere in the world and in perpetuity. We depend for existence upon the support of our parent organization, The European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference, the goodwill of our editorial team, and the continuing support of our network of peer reviewers in the marine renewable energy community.

The International Marine Energy Journal also operates under the Creative Commons Licence CC-BY. This allows for the reproduction of articles, free of charge, for any purpose, provided that the original authors are credited for their work, along with a copy of the licence. Please note that copyright of the content of all articles remains with the authors of the article.  As such, the authors are free to upload their manuscript to a pre-print server or other repository at any point after submission of the article. It should be made clear that the manuscript has been submitted to, under review or accepted by the journal, if the manuscript has not yet been published by IMEJ. Note the CC-BY licence can not be revoked once granted, therefore published articles cannot be removed from IMEJ once accepted for publication (apart from cases of retraction, as described in the transparency and ethics page).
